About Hockey Academy

A “Typical” Week at the Academy

Typically, hockey at the Academy level is 4-5 days per week of structured on-ice training and off-ice workouts with a full-time strength and conditioning coach. The team plays games on weekends (2-3 games per weekend) with intentional rest periods in between. Incorporated with off-ice training is MMA, boxing, stretching and yoga. Private training is available on “off nights” at the discretion of the player as well as membership to RapidShot and RapidHands training devices at the rink’s off-ice training facility.

School Options

The Academy offers several options for schooling including private school, public school and on-line schooling.
  • Private School
Scranton Preparatory School (Prep) is a co-educational Jesuit high school located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Prep is a highly rated, private, Catholic school located in Scranton, PA, approximately 9 miles from Revolution Ice Centre. It has 780 students in grades 9-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 15 to 1. After graduation, 99% of students from this school go on to attend a 4-year college. Prep is ranked as one of the top 20% of private schools in Pennsylvania.
  • On-Line School

For our Pennsylvania residents, our academic partnership with Commonwealth Charter Academy (CCA) allows us to combine a best-in-class education with best-in-class athletic and leadership training at one of the premiere facilities on the east coast. Your player’s experience in our program will help prepare them for the many demands they will encounter when they move on to the next level, whether that is in pursuit of playing NCAA D-1 or D-III hockey for an NCAA varsity program, or playing ACHA hockey. The Knights Academy model will help your player master the skill of time management, enabling them to have more time training on and off the ice.

Residence Life

In 2021, a dorm facility was purchased that houses 50+ players and provides housing and residence life. Situated on 36 acres, this 10,000 SF building incorporates a common area with pool tables, foosball table, air hockey table, ping pong table, 8 TV’s and seating for 50 as well as a commercial kitchen with a full-time chef, outdoor basketball court and beautiful view of the Pocono Mountains. Located minutes from Keystone College, this property is situated near retail and commercial centers and within a short drive to several small towns (Tunkhannock, Clarks Summit).

For 2022, an additional dorm facility was acquired which will provide player residence and is slated to be ready for the upcoming season. This 50,000 SF facility is located less than 5 minutes from the rink and will have a segregated area for underage players. These underage players will be supervised at all times and transportation will be provided to and from the rink for practices and workouts. Amenities include a recovery room, players lounge, cafeteria, and study rooms. A set schedule will be established for academic work, off-ice training, on-ice training and team practices.
